After several previous visits to the Goose in Addison and Plano, my lunch companions and myself have just completed our final trip. Should be absolutely no surprise or concern to the restaurant ownership because the previous discussions addressed their unrelenting policy of not splitting checks, and our server told an adjoining table that it was "company policy". Obviously they choose to ignore their patrons, and we will choose to dine elsewhere. Of course, if the server had posessed the slightest command of customer service, this situation could have artfully been avoided. Instead, we were left with our check not once, but twice, with instructions the second time to divide the amounts by responsible party and give her subtotals. Our location manager managed to conclude his personal cell phone discussion at the door long enough to give us his business card, and seemed overly distracted. The server evidently came to the conclusion that we were discussing our displeasure with the mandatory gratuity policy, and ventured over to give her rather unneeded opinion, which only made matters worse. The manager was completely unprepared to make any reparations, and didn't even attempt to. With the current economy, our dining dollars will be spent at an establishment that has both good food and good service, which is not asking too much for a restaurant, is it? |

I love the low-key ambiance Blue Goose offers. I hate when servers sit around talking your ear off, you go to a restaurant to eat and talk with your friends not the server! The food is always so good there I tell all my friends about it. Thanks Blue Goose! |

The food was great; unfortunately my party had a poor server. We were easy to wait on, 5 adults who just ordered sodas and food; we never needed refills or asked for a thing, perfect table in my opinion. When we asked to have the ticket separated into 3 checks she acted as if it was the most impossible thing for her to do, so when she could not remember who had what she just split all the tickets and left them for us to figure out. That is ok, I can handle that. Two of the parties gave her their money not needing change. I handed her a 20-dollar bill and the waitress asked if she needed change, my bill was 10.50. I have been a server since 95 and never once have I asked the table if they needed change, the polite thing to do is to accept the money and say I will be right back with your change, never assume a tip! The waitress made it clear to me that she did not have change, and she could give me a ten or two fives. I made her aware that giving me 10 dollars in change does not cover my bill and I will have no change to tip with. I guess she thought I owed her a 5 as a tip. I told her to just give me 9.00 in change; she again reminded me that she had no change. I told her I needed change, she huffed "I have to go get change" and rudely stated "we are not even suppose to split checks". I have never been so upset with my service before, her attitude was totally uncalled for, like I said we were an easy table, any half-wit could have helped us. I have been to the Blue-Goose 4 times; I go on Tuesday nights with friends who have bikes. Before I went the first time I read a write up that an unsatisfied customer wrote about the poor service at the Blue Goose. I have only had mediocre service there until now. I do not plan on returning to the establishment to dine. It really is a shame that the service is so poor, I would be embarrassed for myself if I behaved the way my female server with long brown hair in a ponytail waiting on the patio last Tuesday night did.
Thanks for the tasty food, no thanks to the service! |

The food was excellent and the service was alright. The server was quick but not very personal. Then again I'm not there to chat with some waitress. I just want some good food and go out on the town. We decided to sit up at the bar before leaving. I could tell that most of the people were regulars and the cute curly headed bartender made it all the better. His cute smile and sarcastic humor entertained us all. We couldn't find a reason to leave so we ended up staying there all night. It's now one of my favorite hangouts! |

This is one of the best Tex-Mex places out there. Highly recommended. The service is great. For those concerned about auto gratuity, it is not uncommon for the "better" restaurants to do this. Perhaps it doesn't happen at Panchos, but it certainly isn't a reason to down-sell a restaurant. |
