My wife and I went to college in Durant and ate there often. The food is as good as I have ever eaten at a Mexican place. Tortilla chips are made fresh daily, as is the salsa which is nearly perfect for my taste, a bit spicy and a hint of cilantro. I know this because I had to ask, it was so good. You can easily tell the ingredients are fresh and home made, such as the tortillas that wrap the enchiladas. The service was always excellent. The prices are very fair for such high quality and portions. |

My job calls me to travel approximately 250 days out of the year. Needless to say, I have lots of experience with restaurants. Salita's of Durant Oklahoma is by far the BEST Mexican Restaurant I have ever dined at. And would have to rank among the top three restaurants I have EVER dined at! My last trip called for me to be in Dallas, TX. Three others and myself were done early one evening and I recommended we drive up to Durant for what I referred to as "The best Mexican food restaurant ever." They, hesitant of making the drive finally agreed to give it a try. They all disagreed with me and said "This isn't the best MEXICAN food ever, this is the greatest FOOD ever!" Needless to say, we made the drive again, the next day! I would highly suggest that if you are EVER anywhere between OKC and the DFW Metroplex, take a chance, make the drive, and you will be glad you did! |
