This stuff tastes more like the Arizona style Mexican food I'm used to and it's pretty good. The carne asada and the carnitas are my favorites. |

There are a lot of restaurants in Silver City serving Mexican food. Most locals have their favorite; I find that no single restaurant completely satisfies me, but most of them have at least one dish that I especially enjoy.
At Don Fidencio's my favorite dish is the Carne Asada Torta. Carne asada is little nuggets of mildly marinated steak (not to be confused with carne adovada, which is meat more heavily marinated in a red chile sauce), and a torta is sandwich served on a round bun somewhat larger than a hamburger bun.
The Carne Asada Torta is topped with lettuce and guacamole and served with some fairly fiery green chile sauce on the side. Tasty, somewhat sloppy and cheap (under $4, if I recall correctly). |
