Great food! My Puerto Rican fiance actually stops by just for their chicken soup! It is very popular so, yes, come early. We have brought visitors from Charleston to Dos Taquitos and now they can't come without stopping by. I like the dark, homey atmosphere. The candles at the tables and the patron's graffiti on the walls are nice touches. Nothing presumptuous here. The wait staff if always nice and personable...even the guy that brings you your chips and salsa...which is killer by the way. |

I'm not kidding -- Dos Taquitos has the best Mexican (OK, it's also Columbian) food I have ever had, save for the sopés I had in Manzanillo, MX.
If you are looking for an order-by-numbers Mexican place, head for El Rodeo and you'll be fine. However, if you want truly unique and delicious Mexican/Columbian fare, get thee to Creedmor and Millbrook and arrive early. There are outstanding variations on classics (enchiladas, etc.), but I prefer to go for the more eclectic fare featured here. Th steak-based dishes are marinated in lime juice for perfect flavor, and always look for that delicious cilantro rice as a side dish. It also doen't hurt that this place features what must be 50 different kinds of Tequila. Pick one and make your own Margarita! |
