A mexican grocery with a lunch counter in the back. Need a square foot of pork rind? How about a burrito as big as your head? This place feels like a place south of the border. Mildly bilingual, expect to order with simple one word requests. Counter service.

First time I heard about this place, I had no idea how hooked I'd become. The lunch counter was originally tucked behind a rope strung wall to wall offering T-shirts for sale. The guy selling food spoke only Spanish and an American girl translated for me. Now it is almost half restaurant, but the food is still great and authentic and affordable. The Burritos are 6 inches long and 3 inches thick. Not quite as big as my head, but as big as Labambas, which advertised such. Good supply of mexican grocery items to browse while you wait for your food. The people are always friendly. During lunch it is quite lively with workers on their lunch break. |
